We need to rethink child care in Canada.

Only 20 per cent of children have access to regulated child care spaces and, in many provinces, child care fees are on the rise and out of reach for far too many families.

It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s time to think about what a national public child care system could do for families – and the economy.
