The scariest thing this Halloween for Saskatchewan families, workers, and communities is not ghosts or goblins – it is the ticking clock on affordable child care, according to Kent Peterson, president of CUPE Saskatchewan.
“As Halloween approaches, families and child care workers shouldn’t be haunted by uncertainty over child care,” said Peterson. “The $10-a-day child care agreement brings affordability for parents and stability for workers – but the Sask. Party’s delay to renew it has left Saskatchewan in the dark.”
With only 151 days remaining before $10-a-day child care disappears in Saskatchewan, the urgency is growing. Find CUPE’s live countdown at skchildcareunion.ca.
“Families and workers cannot afford the Sask. Party’s child care tricks,” added Peterson. “Scott Moe must stop ghosting the people who rely on child care every day. Treat parents and workers with the respect they deserve – sign the deal.”
CUPE Saskatchewan is the largest union in the province and represents over 31,000 workers in child care, health care, education, universities, community-based organizations, municipalities, libraries, social services, boards and agencies, and many more.
