Annual General Meeting for CUPE CBO Workers of Saskatchewan Brings New Leadership

On June 11, the CUPE Community Based Organizations (CBO) Workers of Saskatchewan sector steering committee held their Annual General Meeting. The committee is pleased to welcome a new Executive.

  • Chairperson: Nicole Huber (CUPE 3481);
  • Vice-Chairperson: Cora Naegeli (CUPE 3481);
  • Members at Large: Sarah Magnus (CUPE 4748), Amy Haywood (CUPE 3481), Anna Giese (CUPE 4748)

President of CUPE Saskatchewan Kent Peterson pointed out that the members in this sector are doing important work for our province. “Many of these members work part-time, hold more than one job to pay the bills, and readily take on the responsibility of helping some of our province’s most vulnerable people,” Peterson said. “Coming together to strengthen all their voices into one is very powerful. I’m excited to see the changes we can make for the better with these new leaders.”

CUPE represents members employed in a range of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) throughout Saskatchewan. These organizations offer vital services including child care, social support, and vocational training for individuals with disabilities. They also provide community programs such as shelters and addictions treatment, operating across multiple agencies across the province.

The CUPE CBO Workers of Saskatchewan executive are tasked with identifying key issues for the sector and advocating for better funding, supports, and improved working conditions for their members.
