In Saskatchewan, there are over 175 CUPE Locals which are directly chartered to the national union and the majority of these Locals are affiliated with the CUPE Saskatchewan Division.

CUPE Saskatchewan is the policy arm of the Union.  We work to bring attention to the issues that affect our province's public services which make our communities great places to live, and we defend our dedicated members who put themselves on the front line everyday to deliver the services we count on as citizens.

At CUPE Saskatchewan, we also partner with other unions, employee associations and community groups to build strong communities and make Saskatchewan an even better place to live, work and raise our families.

Formed in 1963, CUPE Saskatchewan has been at the forefront of defending public services and resisting privatization, cuts or legislative changes that erode public services and, in doing so, our quality of life as citizens of Saskatchewan.

Our 29, 000 members live and work in the province and also contribute to our communities through volunteerism, donations and actively standing up for fairness, better working conditions and accountable democracy.

In this past year alone, CUPE Saskatchewan has donated $40, 000 to provide families with flood relief, made a significant contribution to help realize the construction of Station 20 West in Saskatoon, and have made countless donations-large and small-to events, community groups and promoting the work of community building. In 2012, we look forward to continuing our work to celebrate the value of public services and enhance our volunteerism, sponsorship commitments and donations that make a difference in our communities across Saskatchewan.
